Baba Jamal, to support law students in the constituency by paying 25 percent of their fees.

The President of the Forum, Yahaya Alhassan, described the promise as inadequate and called on the MP to provide clarity on the precise nature of the programme, including how many students will benefit, the exact percentage of fees to be covered, the source of funding and the duration of the support.

“WHAT TYPE OF SCHOLARSHIP PAYS ONLY 25 PERCENT?”

According to the NGSJF, describing a contribution covering only 25 percent of a student's fees as a scholarship requires greater clarification.

“What type of scholarship pays only 25 percent? If you can't spell it, don't write it,” Yahaya Alhassan said, challenging the MP to clearly define the programme and his financial commitment.

“If other Members of Parliament are providing full scholarship support to students in their constituencies, Ayawaso East should not settle for a promise that covers only 25 percent of students’ fees,” the Forum said.

HOW MANY STUDENTS WILL BENEFIT?

The NGSJF is also asking the MP to disclose the number of law students from Ayawaso East who will benefit from the programme before publicising the initiative through the media.

CALL FOR 100 PERCENT SCHOLARSHIP

The NGSJF is therefore challenging Hon. Baba Jamal to reconsider the proposal and commit to 100 percent payment of the fees of eligible law students from Ayawaso East, subject to transparent and publicly stated selection criteria.

The NGSJF says it welcomes any genuine effort to support students, but insists that scholarship commitments must be clear, transparent, measurable and meaningful enough to make a real difference to beneficiaries.

Yours Sincerely

Signed

Yahaya Alhassan

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='https://www.newghanasjforum.org/2026/08/what-type-of-scholarship-pays-only-25.html' title='WHAT TYPE OF SCHOLARSHIP PAYS ONLY 25 PERCENT? left;"> Felix Adomako Mensah, popularly known as ZionFelix

New Ghana Social Justice Forum Questions Media Responsibility, Celebrity Influence and the Need for Independent Journalism

The New Ghana Social Justice Forum (NGSJF) has raised concerns over what it describes as the apparent lack of mainstream media coverage of its petition to diplomatic missions concerning Felix Adomako Mensah, popularly known as ZionFelix, and allegations surrounding the promotion of the activities of Central Migration Grace and its Chief Executive Officer, Alifa Adams.

The Forum says the matter raises a broader and uncomfortable question about the relationship between Ghana's media industry, celebrities and commercial interests:

Does every public-interest story receive the same level of media attention, or can the influence and stature of an individual determine what gets published?

The petition, which has been presented to diplomatic missions in Accra, seeks an independent examination of allegations concerning visa and travel transactions involving Central Migration Grace and raises questions about the role celebrity endorsements can play in influencing members of the public.

WHY THE MEDIA SILENCE?

According to the Forum, the apparent difficulty in securing broad mainstream coverage of its petition raises important questions about media independence and editorial responsibility.

The Forum is asking:

Is the story being overlooked because of ZionFelix's stature and influence in Ghana's entertainment industry?

Are commercial relationships between celebrities and media organisations affecting editorial decisions?

Are media organisations reluctant to investigate stories involving personalities with strong connections within the media industry?

Could some media platforms themselves have commercial interests in promoting travel and visa businesses?

The Forum says these questions deserve public discussion not because ZionFelix or anyone else should be condemned without evidence, but because independent journalism is essential to public accountability.

WHEN CELEBRITY INFLUENCE MEETS THE VISA BUSINESS

The NGSJF says its concern extends beyond one celebrity.

The Forum argues that celebrities, influencers and bloggers can exercise considerable influence over public confidence when promoting businesses or individuals offering travel and visa services.

In the case cited in its petition, the Forum refers to social-media material in which ZionFelix is seen visiting and interviewing Alifa Adams and showcasing aspects of his residence and lifestyle.

The Forum says such promotional content may have contributed to an impression of credibility and success surrounding the businessman and his organisation.

One reported complainant, Matilda Ampomaa Nyame, has reportedly told the Forum that the social-media content and reputation of ZionFelix contributed to the confidence she placed in the organisation before making payments.

THE DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE

The Forum says it has submitted documentary material to accompany its petition, including a video relating to ZionFelix and Central Migration Grace, as well as other online publications and materials concerning Alifa Adams.

Documentary material:

ZION FELIX – CMG documentary material

The Forum also draws attention to material concerning the reported presentation of an award to Alifa Adams as “Best Travel and Tour” by Corporate People's Choice, asking that the circumstances surrounding the award and its relevance to the wider allegations be independently examined.

The NGSJF says it has also supplied references to previous media reports concerning Alifa Adams, including reports relating to an alleged GH¢40,000 visa-fraud case in 2023 and a 2015 police recruitment fraud case.

THE LESSON OF NAM1 AND MENZGOLD

The Forum says the controversy also raises an important lesson from Ghana's Menzgold/NAM1 experience.

Menzgold received extensive celebrity endorsements and promotional exposure before its collapse.

The NGSJF argues that the Menzgold experience should have produced a stronger culture of due diligence before celebrities lend their names and platforms to businesses dealing with the public's money.

The Forum's question is therefore straightforward:

If stronger scrutiny and accountability had followed celebrity endorsements associated with the Menzgold/NAM1 saga, would it have discouraged other celebrities from promoting businesses that later become the subject of serious fraud allegations?

WHAT SHOULD DIPLOMATIC MISSIONS DO?

The Forum wants diplomatic missions to observe not only the allegations concerning the visa business but also how Ghana's media and institutions respond to public-interest complaints involving influential personalities.

It is asking diplomatic missions to independently assess the documentary material and, where their laws and procedures permit, take appropriate preventive or regulatory measures.

authorities, and consider lawful visa restrictions or other appropriate measures against persons proven to have engaged in visa fraud.

The Forum stresses that diplomatic missions should not replace Ghanaian law-enforcement agencies or the courts, but should take preventive action within their legal mandates rather than waiting until more people become victims. such sanctioning the big fish or the organisation so as to prevent it before it happens through warnings

WHAT SHOULD DIPLOMATIC MISSIONS DO?

The New Ghana Social Justice Forum is urging diplomatic missions in Accra to be proactive in protecting visa applicants, expressing concerns about whether local law-enforcement processes always provide timely justice for victims of visa fraud.

The Forum calls on diplomatic missions to independently review credible complaints and documentary evidence, strengthen public education on official visa procedures, issue timely warnings about verified fraudulent operators, share relevant information with competent authorities, and consider lawful sanctions against individuals or organisations proven to be involved in visa fraud.

The Forum believes that sanctioning major offenders and publicly warning the public about verified fraudulent operators can help prevent further victims before fraud occurs, rather than waiting until large numbers of people have lost their money.

The Forum stresses that, given concerns about the effectiveness and timeliness of local law-enforcement and judicial processes, diplomatic missions should not rely solely on Ghanaian law-enforcement agencies or the courts. Instead, they should use every lawful preventive measure within their mandates to protect visa applicants, sanction proven offenders where legally permitted, and safeguard the integrity of their visa systems.

FROM MEDIA SILENCE TO ALTERNATIVE GHANA NEWS

The NGSJF says the experience has also become a lesson for the organisation itself.

According to President Yahaya Alhassan, if legitimate public-interest concerns can struggle to receive independent media attention because of the influence or connections of persons involved, civil society must develop alternative ways of communicating with the public.

The Forum therefore intends to strengthen its advocacy for alternative and independent Ghanaian news platforms capable of publishing public-interest stories while maintaining journalistic standards of fairness, verification and accountability.

The objective, it says, is not to attack established media houses or replace professional journalism.

Rather, the Forum wants to create additional platforms through which citizens, and civil-society organisations can raise legitimate concerns and allow the public to examine the evidence for itself.

A MESSAGE TO DIPLOMATIC MISSIONS AND INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATIONS

The NGSJF says its decision to share the story with diplomatic missions and international organisations is intended to encourage a broader conversation about visa fraud prevention, media independence and celebrity accountability.

The Forum is urging diplomatic missions in Accra to independently review the material accompanying its petition and “do the needful” within their respective legal and administrative mandates.

It says diplomatic missions should not wait until victims have lost substantial sums before taking preventive measures.

The Forum is also calling on international organisations working on migration, consumer protection, anti-fraud and good governance to support stronger public education on legitimate visa procedures. The New Ghana Social Justice Forum says the reported “Best Travel and Tour” award presented to Central Migration Grace by Corporate People’s Choice raises legitimate questions about due diligence and the credibility of corporate awards. Mr. Alhassan maintained that Ghana's development agenda should prioritise projects that support climate resilience, biodiversity, and sustainable land management, consistent with the objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

He questioned whether the construction of artificial football pitches should be a national priority at a time when many young Ghanaians are seeking employment opportunities that could be generated through environmentally sustainable projects.

The Forum therefore called for greater emphasis on the development of natural grass playing fields and green recreational parks as part of Ghana's environmental and employment strategies.

Mr. Alhassan disclosed that The New Ghana Social Justice Forum has undertaken research into the increasing construction of artificial football turfs across the country and has observed what it describes as a contradiction in public policy where governments promote tree-planting and environmental conservation while simultaneously replacing natural landscapes with synthetic surfaces.

He added that the Forum is pursuing advocacy initiatives, including possible legal action, to encourage policies that favour natural grass sports facilities and support the broader vision of a greener and more sustainable Ghana.

A formal petition has been submitted to the United States Embassy and Canadian High Commission in Accra, calling for diplomatic engagement to encourage Ghanaian authorities to settle longstanding financial obligations owed to players of the Ghana Black Princesses.

The petition, issued by the New Ghana Social Justice Forum and signed by its president, Yahaya Alhassan, highlights what it describes as over a decade of unpaid bonuses owed to members of the national U-20 women’s football team. The appeal comes at a time when global attention is once again turning toward international women’s football competitions, including activities linked to the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.

A Matter of Justice and Recognition

According to the petition, the affected players represented Ghana with distinction during the qualification campaign for the 2016 tournament held in Papua New Guinea. Their efforts, which included victories over Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, and Senegal, helped elevate Ghana’s international sporting reputation and contributed to the growth of women’s football in the country.

Justice for Women’s Football : Equal respect, equal opportunities, equal future

Despite these achievements, the players reportedly received only partial payment of bonuses promised by the Government of Ghana. While each player was to be paid $2,000 per match amounting to $12,000 for six matches only $4,000 was eventually disbursed, leaving an outstanding balance of $8,000 per player.

The petition argues that this unresolved debt has had lasting consequences for the players, many of whom continue to face financial hardship, injuries without adequate support, and broader socio-economic challenges.

Mounting Financial Burden

The situation has been further compounded by the passage of time. Applying a modest annual interest rate of 10 percent, the petition estimates that the total amount owed per player has risen to $16,800 as of 2026.

Individual cases cited in the petition, including those of Alhassan Fatima from the Central Region and Vida Opoku from Accra, underscore the human impact behind the figures, stories of dedication met with disappointment and unfulfilled promises.

Call for Diplomatic Engagement

While emphasizing respect for Ghana’s sovereignty, the petition calls on the U.S. Embassy to use its “moral and humanitarian voice” to draw attention to the issue and encourage a fair resolution.

“The United States has long stood for fairness, justice, and the protection of vulnerable groups,” the statement noted, adding that diplomatic advocacy could help reinforce accountability and support for women in sports.

Accra, Ghana — The New Ghana Social Justice Forum (NGSJF) has initiated legal action against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over concerns that tickets allocated to Ghana for the upcoming FIFA World Cup have not been made readily accessible to the general public. The case, filed under Suit Number GT/0S73/2026, seeks to address what the Forum describes as a lack of transparency in the distribution of the highly sought-after tickets.

Mr. Yahaya Alhassan: President,The New Ghana Social Justice Forum

According to the Forum, with the FIFA World Cup roughly 90 days away, many Ghanaian football fans remain uncertain about how and where to legitimately obtain official tickets for the tournament. The organization claims that efforts by members of the public to find clear information through the GFA’s official website and other communication channels have been difficult and confusing.

The New Ghana Social Justice Forum argues that the lack of clarity surrounding ticket access could create opportunities for exploitation by intermediaries, including individuals posing as “visa connection” agents or ticket brokers. The Forum believes that such a situation could lead to unfair practices, monopolization of ticket access, and possible corruption that would disadvantage ordinary Ghanaian supporters.

As part of its advocacy for transparency, fairness, and accountability, the Forum has formally summoned the Ghana Football Association through the courts. The legal action aims to compel the football governing body to provide clear and transparent mechanisms for the public to obtain World Cup tickets allocated to Ghana.

A spokesperson for the Forum emphasized that attending the World Cup to support the national team should not be restricted to a privileged few.

“We believe that the opportunity to support the national team on the world stage should not be limited to a select few. Access to World Cup tickets must be transparent and fair to all Ghanaian citizens,” the spokesperson stated.

The Forum further noted that transparent ticket distribution would allow individuals to independently purchase tickets and proceed with visa applications and travel arrangements without relying on middlemen. According to the group, such transparency would reduce the risk of fraud and exploitation often associated with unofficial travel and ticket arrangements.

The New Ghana Social Justice Forum is therefore calling on relevant authorities and stakeholders to ensure that the ticket allocation process is handled in line with principles of fairness, integrity, and public accountability. The organization believes that such measures would align with the global values of fair play and equal opportunity promoted by FIFA.

Additionally, the Forum has advised Ghanaian supporters planning to travel for the tournament to strictly comply with visa conditions and avoid overstaying in host countries.

The New Ghana Social Justice Forum describes itself as a civic advocacy organization dedicated to promoting social justice, transparency, fairness, and accountability within public institutions and national governance.

The outcome of the case, Suit Number GT/0S73/2026, is expected to draw significant public attention as many football fans across the country await clarity on how they can legitimately secure tickets to support Ghana on the world stage.

New Ghana Social Justice Forum Raises Alarm Over Attempts To Divert State Vehicles, Assets Across Ghana’s Borders

PRESENTED TO: THE HON. The letter noted that his actions and lyrics are inconsistent with the values upheld by the Olympic Games. “The Olympic Games, traditionally seen as a platform to uphold human rights, promote women’s development, and set standards for human dignity, should carefully consider these values,” the letter stated.

The letter which was signed by President of the New Ghana Social Justice Forum, Yahaya Alhassan, cited specific examples, including the controversial ‘Jennifer Lomotey,’ which negatively portrays Krobo women by referencing a folklore involving a curse of promiscuity. Additionally, it mentioned Sarkodie’s diss track ‘Try Me,’ in which he labeled actress Yvonne Nelson as “a prostitute who belongs to the street” in response to her memoir ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson.’
<p style="background-color: white; Mr. Kekeli, the founder of Kekeli University and President of KMN Media Network, utilized specialized software to recover and secure the New Ghana platforms.

Taking the opportunity, Mr. Kekeli, an IT expert, shared valuable advice with the general public, cautioning against clicking on unfamiliar links, accepting invitations, or filling out forms requesting personal or login details. The law is so important and so vital to nationhood that all

must take a keen interest in its administration. If we are to survive and thrive as a nation state, then justice delivery must be done well, and the law must be applied to all and policed by all”, she said.Chief Justice Torkornoo was speaking at the inauguration of a District Court in Akwatia, in the Denkyembour District of the Eastern Region of Ghana. She expressed deep appreciation to the Denkyembour District Assembly for its commitment and sacrifices in providing a court for the people of Akwatia and its neighbouring communities. According to her, “it is evidence that all actors in the community are ready to do their part in justice delivery”. She also admonished staff to “present a new and friendlier face of justice in the District” and offer the needed assistance and help to stakeholders who patronized the services of the court. The Member of Parliament for Akwatia Constituency, Honourable Henry Boakye Yiadom, expressed hope that the court would be a pillar of support for the vulnerable and marginalized in the constituency whiles ensuring their rights were protected.

Positive action against compromised media silence. killing of Ahmed Suale.
<p style="background: 0px 0px rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #3c4043; font-family: Raleway, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; Kennedy Agyapong to questioning, and to prosecute him for such a threat, to journalist, Ahmed Suale, and for that matter, an attack to free speech-but their petitions to the Ghanaian Authority were thrown into the bin. Saying, They did not take heed to the advice. They ignored the crucial advice to protect Ahmed Suale, and also to prosecute Kennedy Agyapong.

“Our petitions were ignored, and the result was catastrophic- which led to the death of Ahmed Suale. So, that is why we are today, appealing to the Authorities, to put much protection, to the Supreme court Judge. Or, should not take what Kennedy Agyapong said, as a joke-because, history has told us that when nothing was done to Kennedy Agyapong, the result was catastrophic. So, that is the advice we want to appeal to the Authorities; to call Kennedy Agyapong to questioning for threatening the Supreme Court judge with words like; “ You are a stupid judge. I will face you”, “I will deal with you ”. This is an attack on judicial service, which is unacceptable, and it’s tantamount to a jail term, in a very serious country. So the threat against the judge, should be taken seriously”, he stressed.

Mr. Alhassan, also made a reference that upon all the threats made by Kennedy Agyapong .That is, the threat to Ahmed Suale, and to judge Wuntah, reminds him of the famous Shakespeare saying; “Through tattered clothes small vices do appear ;Robes and furred gowns hide all”.

“In reference to Kennedy Agyapong, despites the crimes and his arrogance abuse of power, he has never been well prosecuted, and well trialed based on his stature within the community- and it’s something that Ghana should move beyond. There should be justice for all. There should be rule of law. As I’m speaking now, Donald Trump, Former US President, is on trial, where the law is taking its cause. So, Ghana, being an example of Democracy in the region, should set an example by ensuring that there’s rule of law in Ghana, and that no one is above the law”, he added.

LET SPEAK AGAINST CORRUPTION
